Kim Taehyung, known as V in the music world, disclosed to fans that he has recovered from a rib injury.
In a post written on Weverse, Taehyung shared a brief glimpse into his military life, which included shoveling snow, snowball fights, intense training that resulted in an injured rib, and his advancement to Sergeant, Level 2.
Men in South Korea are required to serve 18-24 months in the military. Taehyung just recently completed 80 percent of his enlistments and celebrated with fans on Weverse.
Fans of Taehyung were anxious to hear about his injury but were proud of his determination to make the most of his military experience, which led Korean fans to give him the name “Gomdori Myeongseok,” which conveys attributes of intelligence, or one that is a fast thinker, perceptive, or has clear reasoning abilities.
Taehyung and BTS bandmate RM will be discharged from the military on June 10th of this year, with Jungkook and Jimin being released the next day on June 11th.
We are so proud of Taehyung. I admire his strength and resilience. May he remain safe and healthy for the rest of his service.
