Get to Know BINI: The Girls Behind the P-Pop Revolution

damnmikha

In March 2024, the Philippines was taken by storm as the bubblegum pop track Pantropiko became a viral sensation. Whether you were a student listening to it on the way to school, a grandmother humming along while cooking in the kitchen, or a group of kids filming its TikTok dance challenge at the beach, escaping the Pantropiko earworm was almost impossible.

The summer anthem debuted at number 17 on the Billboard Philippines Songs chart, peaking at number one in April as the first recording by a P-Pop group to top the rankings. Over a month would pass until it relinquished its dominance to Salamin, Salamin–a track by the same group. Fast forward to 2025, and the talented artists behind these hits continue to ride the wave of their successes.
